Spartan Rescue Inc.’s popular Confined Space Rescue Technician Level I provides an intense, two-day, 16-hour training in Confined Space Rescue fundamentals, focusing on Provincial and Federal Legislation, Lock out Tag out, Metering and Monitoring, Hazard Assessments, Confined Space Entry, Patient Packaging, Patient Extrication, Rigging for Confined Space Rescue and Ventilation. Our experienced Instructors will draw upon their extensive actual rescue experience to simplify confined space rescue for course members utilizing a safe, functional and efficient approach. Only Spartan Recue Inc. emphasizes a total response model for Confined Space Rescue Operations focusing on patient access, patient care and safe patient extrication. Spartan Rescue Lead Instructors will draw from actual field experience to create practical scenarios which will be utilized to challenge members to apply the skills required to successfully complete this course. The course covers skills used in all classifications of technical rescue. This course is NFPA compliant and requires that each participant successfully complete the Job Performance Requirements and General Requirements outlined in NFPA 1006 Chapter 7.1.
Date and Times:
- Each Day 08:00hrs-17:30hrs
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have completed Rope Rescue Technician Level I
- Must be a Firefighter, Police Officer, Military or Representative of another Professional Organization.
Skills Taught Include:
Equipment selection, inspection and maintenance; knots; anchors; patient access; patient packaging; mechanical advantage systems; belaying; lowering systems; system safety factors; metering; ventilation; permitting; LOTO; SCBA. Practical application is taught through scenarios drawn from instructors actual rescue experience. Be prepared for a lot of information and an intense, hands-on class.

Limited to 16 members. We emphasize hands-on, “learn by doing” instruction and encourage participation by everyone in the class. Successful completion of the course will be determined by members successfully completing the skills assessment and achieving 80 percent or greater on the multiple choice test.

- Cameras are encouraged on the training ground
- We will be outside most of the course so dress appropriately for the weather.
